Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of Oneida County Criminal History. Reading a page or submitting a search means the visitor accepts every term below. Anyone who does not agree must stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no government affiliation. Neither it nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The resource identifies Oneida County and New York criminal-record channels. It is not a consumer reporting agency or private investigation firm.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site is independent from all government offices. It neither stores official criminal records nor retrieves records, performs official checks, or submits filings for a visitor.

Its function is to identify the Oneida County Sheriff, criminal courts, DCJS repository, New York State Sex Offender Registry, and outside tools that may support lawful personal research.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Every visitor agrees not to:

  • Operate bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools against these pages
  • Interfere with site performance or another visitor's access
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or account
  • Use content to threaten, stalk, or harass another person
  • Rely on the content for an FCRA-regulated credit, employment, housing, or insurance decision
  • Violate federal, New York, or local law while using the service

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information found here or through a linked service must not be used to intimidate, threaten, stalk, harass, or unlawfully discriminate. New York imposes specific limits on use of New York State Sex Offender Registry data, including consequences under Correction Law §168-q. Registry publication supports public awareness. It does not authorize vigilantism, blacklisting, or discriminatory treatment.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create credit reports, consumer reports, or background checks. Our advertising partners are not presented as providers for an FCRA-regulated decision. Information from this site or a linked tool may not be used to:

  • Set insurance terms or evaluate creditworthiness
  • Evaluate a renter or housing applicant
  • Make a hiring or termination choice
  • Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
  • Serve any other purpose governed by the FCRA

A lawful regulated check must come from an authorized FCRA-compliant provider or the official channel required for that purpose.

5. No Legal Advice

Content is general information, not legal advice. Only a licensed New York attorney can advise how an Oneida County charge, conviction, warrant, or record-sealing rule applies to a particular person.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are supplied "as is." No warranty is made that:

  • A partner's search result is complete or correct
  • Pages contain no error, defect, or security weakness
  • The service will remain continuously available
  • Published information is always complete, accurate, and current

Criminal records change as charges are filed, amended, dismissed, or sealed. Updates and gaps are unavoidable. No page is an official statement from a court, sheriff, DCJS, or another government office.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to sheriff, court, state, legal-aid, and outside search services that we do not control. We are not responsible for a destination's content, data practices, pricing, or availability. Review its terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Oneida County Criminal History or its content partners. Copying, modifying, distributing, or making derivative works requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from use of the site, including reliance on information found here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

A visitor agrees to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by that visitor's use or breach of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

New York law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from website use must be brought in a court located in New York.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised, and a revision takes effect when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or terminated at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is found invalid or unenforceable, all remaining terms continue in effect. The affected language will be narrowed only as required.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be directed through the Contact page.
